Motosport Gold Coast joins the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride
On Sunday 28th September our Gold Coast Dealership along with approximately 300 other dapper looking chaps, got dressed up and rode to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer.
The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride only happens once a year all around the world, the ride is only open to the classic and café racer style bikes. Riders get right into the swing of things by dressing up and enjoying a massive group ride.
In 2012 the ride was founded all inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit, it was decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of men on motorcycles. That first ride brought together over 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The success of the event encouraged the organizers to consider how it could be used to support a worthy cause. And the rest, as they say, is stylishly-attired history.
In 2013, over 11,000 participants in 145 cities around the world raised over $277,000 for prostate cancer research. In 2014, all funds raised will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in the UK, USA and Australia.
The Distinguished Gentlemen’s ride teams up with Triumph to help put an end to this terrible form of Men’s Cancer.
A massive Thank You to Rob from our Gold Coast Dealership for leading the way.
